除夕將至，三個不願回家的房客，和自外國歸來回到兒時住處的房東女兒，一段追尋家庭溫暖的故事。 Aki推著笨重的行李箱彎進小巷，打開紅色公寓鐵門，沒有電梯的舊式建築，拖著行李一級級而上，頂樓便是她出生成長的老家。16歲時隨父親工作移居巴黎，家中成員只有三人，在國外父母感情不睦分居，她也為就學離開巴黎，幾年不曾全家聚首。今年大家說好回台灣舊家過年，Aki興沖沖先回來， 天真幻想著：或許父母重歸舊地能想起他們以前多麼好  這麼想著的她，以為房客們除夕會閃人，她和父母三人可在此自在團聚，豈知三個房客全都不走：房客一號廢人是十八歲就離家的駐唱歌手，十年不曾與家裡聯絡，今年似乎也不會例外。房客二號是年過三十的化妝品櫃姐怡君，南部的媽媽對唯一單身的她備感關心，常常安排她相親，是造成怡君年假故意不回家的理由。房客三號是Aki的表哥阿天，自幼父母雙亡的他，也沒有家好回。  期待與家人團聚的Aki，和拒絕與家人見面的他們，應該要如何迎接這個新年呢？

It's not so much about being left alone, but the fear of handing yourself over to whatever is out there. This is a story behind the door in the city. A 60-year-old man who lives by himself has chosen to end his live with his only partner - an air doll, he lands on the doll and survives from the suicide jump. He says: loneliness and public opinion are the causes to this act. He bought the air doll from a young seller named Xiao-Ding (Tang,zhen-gang), who lives alone in a place with lots of female air dolls, Xiao-Ding has never had a relationship with a real person, he has only two things in mind, one of them is to take photos with his clients, another is to bring the landlord's (Ma,zhi-qing) grandchild (Zheng,yu-ting) to Japan and find her mother. Da-Xiong (Zhou,yueng-xuan) is a b-list actor, who becomes famous because an act in a rather vulgar-style commercial. He dislikes the advert, and even more unhappy with his mother who suddenly appears after he gets popular. One day Xiao-Ding accidentally delivers the wrong doll to the actor, which is his personal favorite. He starts to pursue the property, but unexpectedly he steps into the actor's personal life.
